March 2022 - PR and media operations at Netball Manchester Live 2022

On our return to the UK after Beijing, we went straight back to work on another PR and media operations project - this time on netball, one of our favourite sports. We renewed our relationship with Manchester Thunder in what turned out to be one of the team’s best ever seasons, one in which they ended up as unbeaten Vitality Netball Superleague champions.
With the support of Manchester City Council, Thunder were due to host their roses rivals Leeds Rhinos in another edition of Netball Manchester Live, an event we had previously worked on in 2016. We provided PR consultancy on raising awareness of the event, worked with event partners and stakeholders and also delivered media operations.
As a sport netball is blessed with great female role models and we put these eloquent athletes at the centre of our PR strategy, which aimed to reach both a local and a national sport’s audience. Our thanks to England internationals Kerry Almond, Laura Malcolm and Jade Clarke for their time. These are heady times for women’s sport, rich in PR and commercial potential and netball can and should be at the forefront.
